Pain Management

Our Pain Management Doctors at Saint Imaging are Hyderabad's recognized experts in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients' chronic pain. Pain management is a field of orthopedics that involves utilizing specialized nonsurgical procedures in order to help patients manage and treat their pain. Differing in both form and location, pain can occur for a variety of reasons depending on the individual patient.

The pain can be temporary, or acute, such as experiencing heightened pain brought on by surgery or illness, or it can be long-term, or chronic, such as persistent pain brought on by arthritis or back discomfort. No matter the type of pain you are experiencing, it can affect your life by hindering your ability to perform daily activities. Our skilled and experienced pain management specialists at Saint Imaging understand that pain can dramatically alter your lifestyle and specialize in treating patients who are suffering from both acute to chronic pain.

Types of Pain

The majority of pain falls into one or both these categories:

 Acute Pain:

  •  That is a normal reaction to an injury or illness.
  •  It comes on fast and usually fades quickly.

 Chronic Pain:

  •  The pain persists even weeks after the normal time of healing.
  •  It will last longer than 3 month

The pain can go from a mild dull ache to severe, sharp stabbing. It can be localized in a single body zone or disseminated,

How pain affects the body

Pain is a heterogeneous defense mechanism. But it is an integral piece of our evolution and helps save one from danger and harm.

Danger is detected by 2 main types of nerves with their pain receptors on the body. One type of nerve sends messages fast, causing a sharp pain that starts more suddenly. The other one drags the same messages but slowly also leading to an ache, a long distant pulse of pain.

The area of the body kind determine how many pain receptors are present. The skin is an incredibly receptive organ which makes it straight forward to figure out the precise region and type of pain. There are way less receptors in the gut, so it is very difficult to identify exactly where you feel a stomach ache.

In the case that pain receptors in our skin are triggered by dangerous objects (e.g. hot or sharp) and they send signals to nerves leading away from site of injury & up spinal cord, these reinforce warnings through 2nd set-colour fast circuit connections though - another part called thalamus in a pair of other minds running tandem represented font face themes turned great spotlighted types lifted over minding likes never beforequotelev.

At times, the spinal cord will immediately send a signal to those muscles so that they contract. This takes the exposed part of your body as far away from danger or harm that you can manage.

This is a natural reaction that works to keep you from damaging yourself further. It preceeds feeling the PAIN.

Once the ‘alert!’ When the message is received in your thalamus, it sorts all of the information from those nerves (based on our previous experience/beliefs/expectations/cultural and social norms). This is why most people respond differently when it comes to pain.

The thalamus, in turn, relays information to other parts of the brain related- depending on context -to physical response or more integrated functions such as thought and emotion. This is when you may experience the feeling of pain, a thought as in 'That hurt! What was it?’, and feel annoyed.

The thalamus is also involved in mood and arousal, which is why the perception of pain can be dependent on your disposition.
